Viggo Venn Named BGT Series 16 Winner

During Sunday night’s finale, the 11 acts who made it through after the Semifinals took the stage for their last chance to earn the public’s vote and be named the winner. When the results were announced, magician Cillian O’Connor came in third place, while dancer Lillianna Clifton was the runner-up.

That meant that Viggo Venn was named the Series 16 winner. The performer reacted to the win by saying, “I feel extremely visible right now. Thank you so much!” When he heard the crowd chanting, he ripped off his vest and shirt, revealing the same clothes underneath, and ran excitedly around the stage.

Venn’s win is notable because he actually received a red buzzer from Simon Cowell in his audition. He told the judges that he wanted “to become a British comedian.” Venn celebrated after his win that he eventually won Cowell over.

Looking Back at All of Venn’s Performances

Venn started his BGT audition by dancing around the stage and removing his clothes to reveal the same outfit underneath. The crowd loved him, as they cheered for more. Three out of the four judges also got a kick out of the performance, voting to send him through.

He returned for the Semifinals with a totally different routine. This time, he recorded the judges saying their names to the tune of “My Name Is” by Eminem. He even got Cowell to participate, although he was less enthusiastic than the others.

Venn ended up winning the public vote to move on to the finale, where he climbed inside a giant balloon and had Cowell pop it to get him out. He even got Cowell to wear one of his famous yellow vests.

The audience at home clearly enjoyed Venn’s silly brand of humor, because they voted for him to win the entire competition. What do you think of their decision? Let us know in the comments below.
